A brunch to connect under-represented people with each other and make the games industry more diverse. The event is hosted and organised by Caroline Flesch and Rebekka Niederländer. Games/Bavaria supports the DEVersity Brunch as a Sponsor.

About this Event

Welcome to the DEVersity Brunch!

We used to host a cozy brunch in Munich that’s secretly a knowledge sharing and networking event for marginalized people who want to create, design, develop, promote, publish and/or review games. We want to include more underrepresented groups and help them find a way into the games industry.

This time, we are taking our little brunch online! Sadly you will have to bring your own food, but you get to hang out with other people in a safe space. We will be using topia.io, a tool with voice and video chat to get together.

Join us on the 20th of March for a brunch, interesting talks and socializing. The DEVersity brunch is open to all, but we want to focus on marginalized groups and empower them.

This brunch is dedicated to best practices for job hunting! If you would like to get feedback on your CV or portfolio, you will be able to share it with others and get advice on it.

If you can’t be there for the whole brunch, feel free to drop in and out as needed.

Why are we doing this?

It’s pretty simple, we want to empower all under-represented people to participate fully in the game industry across all sectors and we want even more amazing games from a diverse set of people. Our way to contribute to this is by connecting newcomers and showcase the work of folk who are already in the games industry.

Is this event for me? (Spoiler: Yes!)

Newcomers: Are you fascinated by games, love playing them and you are interested in how to develop them or promote them to a larger audience? Then this brunch is for you! We require absolutely no prior experience. Hang out with us, listen to our speakers, ask any questions, chat with other people who love games, learn a couple new things and maybe find yourself a mentor to guide you on your journey towards games.

Professionals: Do you want to hang out with more games people? On a Saturday morning!? Outside of work?!? You must be crazy. But also that is awesome – so do we! Drop by our little brunch and listen to our speakers drop nuggets of wisdom. Want to do your part in getting more marginalized people to join the industry? Here’s the place to chat with a bunch of bright-eyed and bushy-tailed newcomers that could profit from your experience.
