Am Mittwoch, dem 15.07.2026 begrüßen wir Carmen Schneidereit (Senior Lighting Artist) mit einem Vortrag zum Thema „The Art of Lighting for Video Games“.

Über Carmen: Carmen Schneidereit is a Senior lighting artist for video games, currently living and working in the London area. She worked with Blizzard Entertainment, Moon Studios, Microsoft Playground Games and more. As an artist, she has a passion for developing mood and emotion through lighting and gameplay cinematography. Next to her work, she is in an industry judge, mentor and photographer.

Inhalt des Vortrags: Historically, lighting has played an important role in all art forms – from painting to stage performance to photography. In the last decade, lighting has also become an essential part of video game graphics. Major game titles are being developed with specialised teams of lighters who are responsible for the lighting and cinematography of the game world. This lecture will introduce you to the fundamentals and functions of lighting a video game and how to use light to support gameplay and story.
